Woman Healed of Liver Disease

“As soon as you guys left the room, my aunt woke up and started breathing on her own without the help of the ventilator. The doctors came in and they are very happy with what they saw, and they said they may move her from the Intensive Care Unit tomorrow morning.”

On a Saturday afternoon, a small group of us went to evangelize and minister to the sick at a hospital called Mesquite Community Hospital in Mesquite, Texas. We met two Spanish speaking young men sitting on a bench outside the hospital.

The guy who spoke the most English told me that he recently was restored back to Christ. I encouraged him, then I asked him why were they at the hospital. He told me that his aunt (the other guy’s mother) was in the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital because her liver was doing really bad. Because of the language barrier he did not know the medical terms for what was wrong. I told him the reason we came to the hospital was to minister to the sick. He got excited about that and shared how he wanted someone to come pray because it was a very emotional time for him. The doctors said that she may die any time.

So we went up to the ICU where his aunt was. I told him that we will do our job quickly and let the family members visit. When we walked in the room, his aunt was unconscious and she was connected to a ventilator. The machine was breathing for her. We went to the foot of the bed and laid hands on her feet. The moment I closed my eyes, I said, “Jesus, when we came in here, You came in here with us! In Jesus’ name I command this liver to be healed.” Then I gave the guy we met my number to call me and let me know how she recovers, and then we left the hospital.

Just a few hours later he called me and with an enthusiastic voice he said: “As soon as you guys left the room, my aunt woke up and started breathing on her own without the help of the ventilator. The doctors came in and they are very happy with what they saw, and they said they may move her from the Intensive Care Unit tomorrow morning.” Praise Jesus!!

Well, they did move her from the ICU. A few days later I went back to the hospital to see her and the family. When I walked into the room, she was sitting up on her bed smiling at me. The family members were not fearful, but smiling too. They told me she was doing well and doctors are waiting for her to digest food back to normal before they release her from the hospital. After they asked me questions about who I was, I told them that I am just a disciple of Jesus Christ. Then I preached the gospel to the family members who were in the room. I stayed in touch with the Mexican guy who invited us to go pray with his aunt. I visited her with him at her home a few weeks later. She was healed and doing really well, she even started gaining her weight back. Today, I still have a relationship with this Mexican brother and God has been using us together to see more healings among that community.
